The city

The City

The city was usual enough, it had

A lake, a beach, an airport, mountains, churches and halls.

Me and my friends did what friends do;surfed on the warm-water Beaches

Swam on the crystal-clear lake, searched for lollies in the street, stole money from living statues like rats eating cheese, played football and hiked the huge Mountains.

Doing nothing important.

The Brain

Here I’ll be explaining the brain:

How does The Brain work?

The Brain,eh? Some 500,000 years ago no one knew what powered our bodies, but now they do thanks to medical science. The Brain is probably the most complex and most difficult to understand, really! It’s composed of around 100 billion Neurons (yes, that’s 1 followed by 11 zeros) and messages from the nervous system can travel at speeds of up to 400km/h, Wow!!!!

First we need to know what the parts of the brain. The first part of the brain takes up 85% of the whole brain and is called the cerebrum. It consists of the left side and right side- the left controls the right side and vice-versa.The cerebellum controls muscle movement and balance: the BrainStem is the part that connects the brain to the spinal cord.

Now, let’s talk about pain receptors. Pain Receptors are located on your skin, muscles and tendons and recognize pain. A bee sting will trigger the pain receptors nearby to send messages to the brain to control the pain- these messages can travel over 230km/h.Next,the Brain will create a stinging sensation to alert the body to react to the venom, this might include crying or shivering and shouting!

Lastly, the problems! Some common brain problems are ASD and concussion. ASD is widely known as autism- Autism is a seriously weird developmental disorder which affects your communication and interaction. Concussion on the other hand is a brain injury by knock of the head. Some symptoms are headache, blackouts, vomiting and nausea.

The Brain is so important if you lose it you’ll die. Therefore extreme care should be taken to make sure you’re not a zombie!

blue whale

The Blue whale is in the whales and dolphins family, it is a mammal. it is the largest mammal and animal overall that ever lived!!! It can weigh more than 170 tonnes and be as big as 30 metres long. Its heart is the same size as a small car!!

It breeds in small colonies and then they take care of their young alone.

Around 100 people can fit into the mouth of one of these beastly creatures!!

You might think these giants eat meat from those big mouths, right? wrong. They eat tiny microscopic creatures called Plankton and Krill that are full of protein.

These animals are highly endangered so we need to act fast!

100 word challenge

Week 33:

Why was that hat on the table…

It was  Friday the 13th at Grand Mansion,Pennsylvania,USA.

The halls were quiet and the lights were silent. Nobody knew what would be coming that night…

The tables, windows, glass broke in a split second! Pieces of acrylic fly across the room and destroy every fragile object,  bullets scatter as if they were water flowing down a river.

Two man walk into the mansion smoking pipes and laughing loudly. They pass the main hall and giggle at a hat left on the table with blood on it!

How do we see?

How do We See?

The eyes are your windows to your soul. They connect the world to your brain and how you see the world.

First light goes through the cornea. The cornea is a dome-shaped clear ‘window’ to the eye at the front , it changes the direction of the light to make it go the right way.

Next is the Iris and the Pupil – the Pupil helps track how much light is going into the eye, the Iris controls(or moves) the pupil to make it do its job;the pupil goes small when there is bright light and vice-versa.

The lens is next, it changes shape depending in what you’re seeing- see far away the lens relax and to see things closely they contract. The vitreous humor is a clear-like jelly that makes up most of the middle of the eye.

Last but not least is the Retina, the Retina makes you see colours! It also helps you make a proper image. Cone and rod cells work together to make a image and colour it. Lastly, the images get passed down to the optic nerve and to the back of the brain.

Some eye problems are commonly short or long sightedness- some others are cataract disease, blindness and crossed eyes!

Artificial Surfing pools

At around  35 million people who practise it, surfing is kinda popular. It even has a championship!

Even with artificial reefs in place, a tourist’s vacation time may coincide with a “flat spell”, when no waves are available. Completely artificial Wave pools aim to solve that problem by controlling all the elements that go into creating perfect surf, however there are only a handful of wave pools that can simulate good surfing waves, owing primarily to construction and operation costs and potential liability. Most wave pools generate waves that are too small and lack the power necessary to surf. The Seagaia Ocean Dome, located in Miyazaki, Japan, was an example of a surfable wave pool. Able to generate waves with up to 3 m (10 ft) faces, the specialized pump held water in 20 vertical tanks positioned along the back edge of the pool. This allowed the waves to be directed as they approach the artificial sea floor. Lefts, Rights, and A-frames could be directed from this pump design providing for rippable surf and barrel rides. The Ocean Dome cost about $2 billion to build and was expensive to maintain.[13] The Ocean Dome was closed in 2007. In England, construction is nearing completion on the Wave,[14] situated near Bristol, which will enable people unable to get to the coast to enjoy the waves in a controlled environment, set in the heart of nature.

There are two main types of artificial waves that exist today. One being artificial or stationary waves which simulate a moving, breaking wave by pumping a layer of water against a smooth structure mimicking the shape of a breaking wave. Because of the velocity of the rushing water the wave and the surfer can remain stationary while the water rushes by under the surfboard. Artificial waves of this kind provide the opportunity to try surfing and learn its basics in a moderately small and controlled environment near or far from locations with natural surf.

Another artificial wave can be made through use of a wave pool such as Kelly Slater’s Wave Co.[15] and NLand Surf Park[16] in Austin, TX. These wave pools strive to make a wave that replicates a real ocean wave more than the stationary wave does. In 2018, the first professional surfing tournament in a wave pool was held.[17]

The most stupid invention ever!

The most pointless ever invention was the gun!!!!!! TA-DA-DAA!!!!!!

The reason I think this is because the gun is a killing machine-literally!! Lately it killed 50 people at Christchurch and just now it made some horrible outcome in Sri Lanka!

First you need to disinvent the gunpowder by getting rid of gunpowder traders, gunpowder owners and taking their jobs away. Second, lock down all gun shops and trading. Everyone should know that war is BAAAAAAADDDD! Police officers don’t need guns anymore because they have tasers, smart huh? Here is a text from the gun law in america: “Though regulations vary from state to state, there are a few key conditions for obtaining guns in the US. The Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA), which regulates firearms at the federal level, requires that citizens and legal residents must be at least 18 years of age to purchase shotguns or rifles and ammunition.” But these laws are not followed by all teenagers because some fourteen year old killed 8 students in a school in America with a  gun! EXPLAIN THAT,TRUMP!.

Conclusion:

You DON’T need to eat meat everyday, you can just eat veggies!!!!
